WOW! Where did July go? So I haven't posted anything since Father's Day - how upsetting! Well, I have been working two jobs (not that that is really an excuse...). I am still consulting for KHA (which I am LOVING) and I am working for Matt. Surprising right? He needed some temporary help while some changes were made in their billing office so who better than me to help! I am really enjoying and I love seeing him at work everyday. One of my favorite parts is having his staff tell me how much they like him and how approachable he is... yes...I am such a proud wife!
I can't think of a better way to update everyone (especially Aunt Kathy) on our life that letting you take a trip through my camera roll on my iphone...so here is where we have been up to since Father's Day:
Doo Jr and I love going to the Farmers Market on Wednesday at lunch. It is right outside our house!
Here are a couple of pics of downtown Knoxville from our fun walks!
Matt and Doo having fun in the pool. Doo loves playing dress up! (I feel bad for our future children!)
Patti and I took a quick trip down to Gulf Shores to deliver a piece of furniture for the condo in June. It was totally worth the drive to have an hour on the beautiful beach!
Austin and Katie came to visit us (June 28-30). We loved showing them Knoxville! Here we are grilling out at Patti and Gary's house
Matt and I headed to the beach for the 4th of July. We were SOO excited! We left after lunch on July 3rd and arrived in time for dinner. It is an 8 hour drive! Unfortunately the only day it was sunny was the 4th but we are thankful for that. We ended up coming home early on Saturday. If it is going to rain, I would rather just go home...
Matt, Gary, Mo and Gus Mo's friend) playing bocce ball on the beach
Family photo time!
Dinner at Tin Top. Y'all this place is sooo good! The seafood is fresh and their menu is on a chalkboard- which I LOVE!
We met up with Matt's friends from grad school! It was so much fun to catch up with everyone!
Back to Knoxville and the rain! It never stops!
Mom and Dad came to visit for Matt's birthday. We had such a great time with them. They stayed downtown at the Crown Plaza and we just hung out and enjoyed all the fun activities downtown. We met up with Matt's parents and brother for a birthday lunch on Matt's birthday. It was great to have everyone back together again. I am such a lucky lady!
Patti got a paddleboard for her birthday! Matt and Doo took it out for a spin. Doo was a little scared to say the least!
Doo Jr loves his candy cane :)
Matt and I checked out Bearden Beer Market one afternoon. It is a pretty neat spot here with lots of craft beer on tap and in bottles. There is a huge open area outside with picnic tables and cornhole. You know- Matt and I are some serious cornhole players...we haven't lost yet!
We checked out a new restaurant here called Blackhorse Pub and Brewery. Lets just say the only good thing about this place is that you can get a HUGE flight of beer for $4. The food is nothing to write home about...probably never going back...
This is a typical scene around here at 10pm..."Please play with me! I don't want to go to bed!"
July 23rd was National Hot Dog Day! Matt and I went and ran and headed straight to Sonic for $1 hotdogs! Matt got 4 and ate them all before we got home. I love this man!
UT Farmers Market is Wednesdays from 4-7. We check it out when we can't make the Market Square Farmers Market. I love this T-Shirt- Eat your vegeta-VOLS!
We love cooking! One night we made seared sesame crusted ahi tuna with cilantro lime rice and heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad. Yummy!
Boutique Blowout! These are a few of my new friends here...love these girls! We all got some great deals. I got a pair of coral skinny jeans that I love. I had been watching them at Kristi (a local boutique) and they went on sale for $78! SCORE! I am wearing them out in Charlotte this weekend so I'll post a pic next week :)
My two loves walking along Worlds Fair Park. This is about 3 blocks from our house.
Doo loves a car ride! Cutie :)
SK came to visit last weekend!!! It was so much fun to see her and spend 48 STRAIGHT hours with her. It was a fabulous treat! We started off with bubbles and cupcakes.
Saturday morning we went for a long walk and Matt went to play golf. UT's campus is a 10 minute walk from our house. We walked by the stadium and it was OPEN! Of course we went inside...when else do you get to be in the stadium all by yourself? Doo Jr had his first (and probably only) visit to the stadium. We are really looking forward to football season. Only 30 days to the first UT game and Clemson game! Woot! Woot!
Matt was INSANELY jealous that he didn't get to go into the stadium with us. We drove back by after Mass on Saturday night and the upper gate was still open. I was so happy for him and he LOVED it! I love these pictures- he is pondering football season very intently. He loves Tennessee Football. I don't think I can convey how much he loves it. His passion for UT football makes me so happy (as long as they are winning :))
We took SK to the Beer Market for a pre dinner drink. Matt and I got a pic of us that wasn't a selfie. So much better! Oh yeah- I cut my hair off! I had grown it out for our wedding and since we are approaching our 1 year anniversary, I thought it was time to go short again. I love it!
Can't beat a yummy summertime watermelon!
UT Campus at night...isn't it beautiful?!
And they are attempting the paddle board again....
I love my Junior League girls! We had a great girls dinner this past Tuesday night at Pero's on the Hill. It was great to see everyone. I am so lucky to have found these ladies.
Ok! So y'all are up to date on our recent adventures! We are headed to Charlotte this weekend to see our friends, eat at some of our favorite places and just have a great time. I'll share all the details next week!
xoxo
